Mickey Harte is back with his new single “Bring Me Down”. “Bring Me Down” is the 4th single to be released off his 2nd album Live and Learn. Since releasing the long play Live and Learn the singles “Sound of the Summer”, “Can’t let go” and “Wish you well” have all received huge national airplay. “Bring Me Down” hopes to follow up on the success of its predecessors and as Mickey says “this song has got all the ingredients of a radio hit plenty of hooks, a killer chorus and a swaying summer groove”. The single is available for down load from I-Tunes and goes to radio on the 29th of June 2007. Mickey will be celebrating the release of “Bring Me Down” with a launch party including a full band performance on Saturday the 23rd of June in Tramco Rathmines Dublin. The Story:

Since making his first appearance in 2003, singer songwriter Mickey Harte has had anything but just an interesting career. Mickey Harte, or Mickey Joe as others call him, became a household name in Ireland in 2003 following his signing to Sony Music Ireland. His debut release on Sony was the unforgettable Eurovision hit single “We’ve got the World”. “We’ve got the World” became the biggest and fasting selling single of 2003 entering the Irish charts at No.1 and remaining there for 7 weeks. In July 2003 Mickey Harte released his debut album “Sometimes Right Sometimes Wrong”. “Sometimes Right Sometimes Wrong” went straight to the No.1 spot, going double platinum in the first two months of sale. After two other top ten single releases, Sony Music and Mickey Harte didn’t seem to see eye-to-eye on the artistic direction that Mickey wanted to go. After just 18 months Sony Music and Mickey Harte parted company. Not one to hide his head in the sand, Mickey took his future into his own hands and set up his own independent label. In June 2004 Mickey set up the label Swerve Music Ltd with his management. His first single on the label entered the Irish charts at no.14 with “A New Way to Fly”. The success of the single was followed by the 2005 radio summer hit “Sound of the Summer”. “Sound of the Summer” remained in the National airplay charts for more than 8 weeks in 2005.

In 2005 Mickey traveled to Sweden to record his highly anticipated follow up long play. He teamed up with Pontus Frisk and Lasse Morten, whose success stories include Andreas Johnson and Eagle Eye Cherry. Pontus and Lasse started laying down tracks for Mickey’s second album and brought some new musicians onboard to play on the album, including Brady Blade on Drums (Dave Matthews, Emmylou Harris, Jewel, Steve Earle), Clare Kenny on Bass (Eurhythmics, Indigo Girls, Sinead O Conner) and Matelas on guitar (Eagle Eye Cherry).

In January 2006 Mickey felt that the album needed to sound more organic and the best place to do this in his opinion, was in the North West of Ireland. He decided that he needed to finish the album back where he had originally started writing the demos. Returning to Donegal, Mickey surrounded himself with people that where familiar with both him and his music. Together with engineer Terry Mc Ginty and fellow Donegal musician Rory Gallagher of the Revs, he put the final touches to the album, entitled “Live and Learn”. Fergal Davis (Mundy, Muse, Republic of Loose) put the finishing touches to the album. “Live and Learn” was released on the 8th of September through RMG Chart entertainment in Ireland. The album has since received rave reviews in the UK and in the States.
